I can’t believe it’s the last day of 2022, and that I haven’t updated this blog since August!
A lot has happened since then. Alex and I have been to Lima, Panama City, and we’re currently in Costa Rica. I need to catch up on gathering photos and captions from all our adventures! Actually, I asked Alex for help quite a few times just to get this blog entry started because I totally forgot how things work. Thank you Alex!
By the way, I asked his permission if I can share his photo blog.. and I got it!
You can view his photos at https://alextan.me.
(Too bad we can’t comment, but maybe you can comment here… :P)
I still work with Galaxy Racer North America, and actually my first project with them just went live this week!
On a side note, on December 31, 2021 we were on our way up Machu Picchu. I’m still so amazed at how many places we’ve been to and how fast time flies.
Going back to this blog post, I just wanted to share that Mexico City is my favorite. It will always be a home to me!
We were able to spend roughly 3 months this year, from August to October 2022. It just felt nice to slow down on the travels a bit and have a home base for a while.
This is our neighborhood in CDMX this time, where it has a homey feel and lined with colorful houses and trees that protect you from the sun.
I love how it reminded me of townhouses in the Philippines!
In a mall nearby, there was a FreeFire esports event. I missed live events!
Another reason I love Mexico City: I can get deliveries from my online shopping! Mercado Libre is like their local Amazon, and I'm amazed they have electric vehicles doing their deliveries.
For 3 months, I was able to order from Amazon! Finally getting things on my list = huge win for my happiness!
Our apartment had a nice green space.
This glass cracked while I was washing dishes, and it had an arrow up crack.
Mexico City loves their dogs!
Really reminds me of the streets of Manila...
Traffic is bad at times...
But the skies are wonderful.
World Cup 2022
The mall is a giant train station.
Since there was a shortage of PS5s and they were raising prices, we just had to get it here! You're welcome Alex!
We immediately went home and played some PS5... However after 1am, we felt a A BIG EXPLOSION!
Turns out there was a man-made bomb that went off at the police station right outside our apartment...
It was quite the experience. Mexico City, always full of exciting things happening!
Apparently, there are Mexican TV shows being filmed in our street.
I should have asked if they needed an extra! I miss the production life!
We love it here because there are a lot of food options.
And it's super easy to get around, and Uber is cheaper than the US of course!
The baked goods here are so delicious! My favorite are the conchas!
The Queen died..
Everywhere you look, it has character!
Everywhere, there are cute things to see!
Sometimes we go out to have Asian food!
And I am happy! :D
It's a ramen/sushi/bar.
Fancy malls. I like the shape of this building.
Mexican Independence day is September 16.
Food stalls outside the grocery store.. Reminds me of East Ave.
Or the Quezon City Hall!
Made pizza again after makinga bunch in Argentina!
EL CAIFAN TAQUERIA is our favorite taco place in CDMX!
Last year, we randomly entered here after a failed attempt to enter a nearby museum nearby...
The best sauces...
It feels so good to be back in a place you really enjoyed!
Made a promise to myself to take more selfies...
Trying new things for me, and Alex loves their quesadillas!
And I love my Mexican coke!
Rains in Mexico
This taqueria is near Scientology Mexico.
Very Oemons
For the Tacos Al Pastor
Watched the Queen's funeral
On September 19, another exciting event happened!
Our neighbor's dog loves peeping at us when we pass by.
We finished Twin Peaks a few weeks back and are in need of more Dale Cooper shenanigans.
I really loved walking around the neighborhood!
Things I see in CDMX
So similar to the Philippines!
More Mexican food to try when we're back. Wanna try it with friends!
Trying more Mexican food!
I really think my drinking of a Coke really helped in preventing stomach bugs. Hello Alex.
Alex shared a joke he heard somewhere that Mexican is just tomatoes, cheese, beans...
Muy lindo
Every restaurant we go to, it's all just so pretty!
Traveling makes me realize what I want in our future home!
Art is everywhere :D
We try to explore different parts...
And seeing how people live here.
Maybe I should just take photos of all the Starbucks mugs. We can't bring them with us!
Whenever I see markets, I know I can't buy because I don't have room in our luggage.
It's all good though. It's Coco!
Puppets!
Wanna try street food...
Pottery! Arf arf.
Things we see...
Tipped off Alex that he can get the newest phone here that comes with a sim card tray! (We need it for our travels)
Surprised to see this at the mall, it's the Baby Jesus we had at home when I was younger.
Should have bought one... But traveling with Jesus will be difficult.
And then it's Halloween time!
Mexico City is so progressive!
I had a massage and this was my fortune. It says - Today discover your freedom, be allowed with yourself, forgive yourself, hug yourself. Admire yourself, flatter yourself, challenge yourself, strive. And forever love yourself with all those things that make you.
Museo Soumaya is a great landmark.
And so near the grocery, my massage place, and other malls as well!
Noche Buena!
Aww cutie.
Had my first podcast guesting for Women in Games Asia!
Our neighbors are fun XD
And I treated myself to a Dyson Airwrap!
Watch out 2023, for a new me!
That took me a while to finish.
But I wish everyone a happy new year!
I miss my family and friends, did you know that I can also be messaged anytime?!
And that I’ll just reply when I am up? XD
Here’s to a new year for all of us!
