Before we start on the usual travel photos, I just wanted to make some life updates:
I got a new job!
I just wanted to share on here that I recently ended my much needed career break, and that I am now Brand Partnerships Manager for North America at one of the world’s biggest gaming and esports organization, Galaxy Racer! The company is headquartered in Dubai, but is very active in MENA, SEA, South Asia, and Europe. Very proud to be part of team North America!
Really excited for this role, and looking forward to share my knowledge and expertise to a whole new market. My colleagues are pretty cool, and I honestly look forward to starting work every day. Can’t believe I am with Galaxy Racer! Ah!
Well, I also started a new role:
I am also happy to announce that I am part of the leadership team of the newly launched Women in Games Asia Chapter. I will be handling Partnerships, and will be working with companies in Asia and Women in Games based in the UK to advance our advocacies to inspire more ladies to pursue a career in gaming and esports.
I have been participating in W Coffee sessions since 2020, where ladies from the games industry in Asia gather every month to share insights and discuss important issues, and learn from one another. I eventually became an official Women in Games Ambassador in 2021. Meeting women in different phases of their career in gaming and esports really inspires me to do more and be better.
Whew! My experience in entering this space was very eventful, and here we are in my FOURTH YEAR of being in the games industry, and I have never been more honored to be a part of such great organizations. I am so happy!
And now on with it with the travel photos –
After more than 24 hours of travel - from packing up our Mendoza Airbnb, with layovers in Panama and Bogota, we are finally back in my favorite city of all time: Mexico City!
More than 24 hours of traveling from South America to North America, our bodies were so sore after. We're heading out to the ASEAN Bazaar after a night's rest!
I first got wind of this because I follow the Philippine Embassy in Mexico page, lots of ASEAN food available!
I of course supported the Philippines
Alex loved the Buko Pandan and the Melon drink!
This made me remember Nathaniel's Buko Pandan ice cream! Yum!
They had liempo, turon, puto which were a great hit to the Mexicans visiting the booth!
The food area was packed, and here are trinkets from Vietnam
We had Viet and Thai food last night so we passed on this
If you ever are in Mexico City,Kiin-Thai is the place to go. They have pho!
Vietnamese coffee for 20 Mex!
Love Vietnamese BBQ!
The event is actually called ASEAN + 3 bazaar, because Japan, South Korea, and China joined as well.
Ramyun from the South Korea booth
I was expecting more national products from the booths though, I wanted to stock up on ingredients from my home continent!
Bet you weren't expecting to see the Great Wave with the Spanish Bienvenidos!
Los Samurais de Mexico! Reminds me of manga Jesus...
Tiny cranes! I miss doing origami!
Isn't it very timely that the day after we arrive in Mexico, there's an ASEAN bazaar happening in CDMX...
More trinkets which the children loved
I kept coming back to the Philippines booth to talk to the Philippine embassy team!
Too bad they didn't have any Pinoy snacks... I was expecting Chocnut, Nagaraya, and Sinigang Mix!
Maybe I should become a Philippine Ambassador in the future!
I was in the Philippine embassy in Mexico in 2021 to register to vote overseas.
Malaysia booth had Ice Candy!
They had snacks which are widely available in the Mamaks (food stalls) in Malaysia
The Thailand booth had a food staples for Tom Yum and Curry!
This dog reminded me of my sister's fiance's dog!
Thailand had a lot of food prepared, and the lines were long, too!
Thailand pouches and mirrors. Alex got me my fave pants!
The Indonesia booth was amazing, we ordered Tempe, Satay, and Nadar!
Missed seeing people in their Bajus!
I ordered Pancit to take home for dinner
I first had these in Malaysia when we had an event with MDEC, it's amazing! This was from Indonesia's booth though.
Perfect for lunch!
There was a program with the Ambassadors of the different ASEAN countries. They had a lot of raffle prizes!
If only we joined the raffle, I know we will win! High chances of it!
The guy in front of us won TWO TIMES! Isn't the amazing?
But Alex said that we couldn't even bring whatever we will win. There were HDTVs, bicycles, iPhones, and more! How to bring those while traveling? LOL
We were seated next to two nuns, and in Spanish she shared that this lady was the Indonesian ambassador's wife
My best buy was the Thai Iced Tea!
Here's the poster for the bazaar. So glad we went!
When I asked Alex to take a photo of me in the Philippine booth, I recognized this guy because he was the one to register me to vote last year! Thanks Mr. Vince!
Too bad our bet in the Philippine election lost!
Sunday well spent!
Can I just share that I am glad I started this blog before I got really busy with work?
Thank you so much Alex for encouraging me always! And all that you do!
I hope you read this soon! HA!
